“Invite your expert” enables students to receive funding for inviting an expert in their respective field to give a talk. This way, students get in direct contact with an expert in their field to discuss their research topic. In an online or hybrid version, you also have the possibility to meet the expert’s lab members.

The event can take many forms: e.g., brown bag lunch, small symposium, journal club, or online/ hybrid meeting. The only requirement is that other PhD students of the Faculty of Medicine and Swiss TPH can listen to the expert’s presentation, as well.

We offer funding and support for the event.

• Funding: up to 2000.- CHF to cover costs for expert transport and hotel; event material and catering.
• Support: GSMHS Coordination helps to advertise the event and with logistics for online/hybrid meetings.

• The event must be open to all other GSMHS PhD students & those of the Faculty of Medicine and Swiss TPH
• The event has to take place before
  • Graduation of the (main) applicant
  • End of March 2027

Application

Fill in the application form and email it to GSMHS Coordination Office before the deadline. The GSMHS Steering Committee will decide on the applications. Decisions are communicated about one month after the application deadline. 

Evaluation

Fill in the evaluation form after the event has taken place and email it to the GSMHS Coordination Office to receive your refund.
