9:00 - 10:30 Input session with Riana Paola
Constructing arguments in a scientific text
This interactive session explores how to build clear, convincing arguments in scientific writing by “connecting the dots” across your text. We will break down the parts of an argument, look at how reasoning shapes research narratives, and consider the difference between simple and complex arguments. Participants will expand their academic language toolkit to signal argument structure, connect ideas effectively, and indicate the strength or limitations of their claims. Using examples from different sections of scientific articles, we will analyze how arguments are made, then practice strategies for developing coherent, well-supported arguments in your own writing.
10:30 - 10:45 Break
10:45 - 11:45 45min writing followed by a joint goodbye
