Revising the manuscript to get it ready for submission

Although it is tempting to think that the first draft of a manuscript is good enough, it can almost always be improved through careful revision. This session focuses on strategies to strengthen your manuscript at different levels: reworking the overall structure (macro-editing), refining paragraph organization, and enhancing scientific voice and style. We will explore how to revise based on feedback, improve clarity and conciseness, and attend to micro-editing details such as grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Participants will also try out one practical tip to increase the impact of their writing, and we will examine useful AI-based tools that can support revision. By the end, you will have a clearer roadmap for taking your draft from “good” to submission-ready.
